Built a health management system overnight - my first iOS app
During my freshman year, I walked into HackHarvard with no iOS experience and walked out with a win. It was the moment I realized how fast I could learn under pressure - and how much impact a scrappy hack can have.
Context
Starting from Zero
I showed up with nothing but curiosity and a laptop. The problem we wanted to solve was health management, but I had never touched Swift before. With the clock ticking, I had no choice but to dive in headfirst.
Build
Learning Overnight
I taught myself Swift in a single night, coded through the deadline, and shipped a working health management app that let users track and organize critical health data. It wasn’t perfect, but it worked, and that was enough to impress the judges.
Takeaway
Pressure Breeds Growth
The project became the one people always asked me about first on my resume. More than the trophy, it proved I could compress learning into hours and still deliver something that mattered. That ability to adapt, learn, and ship fast, has stuck with me ever since.
